Remember, remember, the month of MOvember

If you walked around our department these days, you will have noticed the increasing amount of facial hair, moustaches, to be more precise. No, you're not back in the 70's. We're all participating in MOvember. Movember is an organisation devoted to raising money for men's health charities.

How does it work? On day 1 (Oct, 31st), everybody clean shaves and then grows a moustache during MOvember (the month formerly known as November). This is the fun part, as you will see in the pictures. However, the whole idea is to raise funds for The Prostate Cancer Charity.

Randomness

When I do coding work and need to figure out something, I usually stare into space for a moment instead of looking at the screen. When I just did that a second ago, I found myself glancing at the flyer on my desk advertising the "Bloomsbury Blues Brothers Show" on November, 8th. I was still thinking about whether or not it's worth going, when my music player started to play "She caught the Katy", the intro song of the original Blues Brothers Movie... weird. Maybe I should go...

Guess the country...

Many sandwich shops around here import Coke from countries all around Europe, Asia or Africa. Usually, you can't read what's written on the can unless you chose Turkish or Albanian as a second language. Today, we had a little discussion about where a particular can came form. Since no one had the answer, each of us put 50p and had a guess: Portuguese, Albanian, Macedonian, Croatian, Afrikaans or Romanian. We googled for the text on the can to find out the language. Thanks to globalisation, Andy won his lunch money back with Albania ;)
